The boy with the little blue car came home from the War in the Pacific and sat on her front porch for two weeks until she agreed to marry him.
Older and wiser heads said it would never last. They were too young, they had no money and no jobs.
Seventy years later they are still going strong, which goes to show you can’t believe all the older and wiser heads.
There you go, Kayti. Seventy years, and that is just the beginning. Dr A knew it too.

Dear aunt Kayti, Love your writing. We leave on Tuesday for a week in Barcelona with Scotty Annie and the girls. Then off to the Swiss Alps for a week with Friends. Then off to Prague, Vienna and Budapest for a nine week tour – three nights in each city by railroad tour. Never thought this little farm girl would go on such an amazing trip.
Today we planted our winter veggies in beautiful vegetable boxes made by adorable gardener Fernando. We just love him.
Chris thoroughly enjoyed his visit with you all and said you were in good health and spirits.
We are so sorry to not be at your 70th. What an extraordinary accomplishment! You are an inspiration to us all!!!
Know that we love you and look forward to having you as our house guests soon.
Be well – we love you so much💕
Love to you and have fun at your party. See you both in October – Linda and Chris

Hope you can go to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. A must! In Prague at the end of the Charles Bridge is the Jewish Ghetto. Sobering but important to see, considering Teresienstat was on 14 km from Prague. Have fun!

Thanks Mary Jane. I’m glad you like the roses. We gave up the majority of them several years ago because of the shade trees which we took out. 120 was too many!

Seventy seems like a lot, but it went by in a flash. I suppose everyone feels the same. There is so much “Living” in sharing your life with another person. We never thought of that 70 years ago.
